Medellin Metro
The Medellin Metro is of great pride to commuters in Medellin. It really is an impressive feat - clean, cheap, efficient and with a great view. The system is made up of both a rail metro and also new "metrocables" like gondolas. A one way ticket costs COP 1.550,- (75 cents US) Train frequency: 
When counting the metrocable, the system is shaped as a bit like a cross, the system runs North / South and East / West, with the two lines crossing each other at San Antonio station and at Acevedo.The most common line for visitors to take is the Lina A (blue line) that runs North / South, starting in North at the Niquia station in Bello and running through the entire city, ending at Itagui station in Sabaneta, recently extended to Ancon Sur. If you are staying in El Poblado, near Parque Lleras as many do, the easiest is to go to Poblado station. Take the Calle 10 down past Exito (the large yellow supermarket), cross the roundabout and look for the station that is elevated. From there you can take the train in either direction, North or South but most likely South toward downtown for example. Parque Berrio is the nearest station to the Botero Museum. The ride is about 10 minutes. Metrocable Runs from Acevedo to Santo Domingo/ Arvi and from San Antonio to La Aurora/ La Aurora from where you get a great view of the city. Note that the San Javier neighborhood is potentially dangerous as it is still a poor barrio with a violent history.
