Avianca airlines has announced that as of July 3, 2010, they will offer direct non-stop flights on the Medellin - Madrid - Medellin route. There will be 2 flights per week: Medellin - Madrid - Wednesday and Saturday (dep. time 6:20pm) Madrid - Medellin - Thursday and Saturday (dep. time 1:10pm) The flights will take roughly 10 hours. This is wonderful news, making the trip to Europe so much easier! Special note: Please avoid arriving late in Bogota as you may miss your connecting flight and have to deal with the hassle of finding a hotel for the night. Note that the flights fill up quickly so book your tickets early. Air France is an alternative but normally more expensive.
