Arrequipe Ingredients - 96 ounces of whole milk

- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 8 beaten eggs
- 1/4 cup of water
DirectionsFirst mix the condensed and evaporated mix with 1/2 cup of sugar, vanilla and the beaten eggs. At the same time, in a saucepan dissolve 1/2 cup of sugar in 1/4 cup of water. Heat the sugar and water mix until its tan colored and sirupy. Once its ready, pour the caramel in a baking dish and pour the milk mixture on top. In a bigger bowl filled halfway with water, place the smaller dish and cover anything with foil. In a 400 degree oven, the crustartd should be completely cooked in about 30-45 minutes. Once its ready, let it cool down, serve and enjoy. Manjar Blanco
Ingredients - 1/4 cup of rice
- 10 cups of whole milk
- 2 1/2 cups of sugar
- A pinch of Salt and;
- 1/4 cup of raisins (optional ingredient)
Directions Two days before making this dish you have to place the rice in a bowl filled with water, then rinse and drain it. In a blender place the now soaked rice with 1 cup of milk, blend and then place in a medium pot along with the rest of your milk, sugar and salt. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to medium. Just like in previous Colombian dessert recipes, in order to achieve a pudding like texture, stir often with a wooden spoon for about three hours, let the mixture cool and add raisins as a final touch. Store the result in a glass bottle, cover with foil and refrigerate for up to a week.. Mazamorra Ingredients - 1 Can of drained and rinsed Hominy (Maiz Peto)
- 6 cups of water
- 5 cups of milk
- Panela or Guava paste on the side
DirectionsPlace the hominy In a large pot, add water and cook for 40 minutes with heat on meadium. Transfer to regular bowl, add milk and serve panela on the side. Unlike other Colombian dessert recipes, this can be served warm or cold and is considered a drink by many instead of a dissert. Either way, it is still very popular as Bandeja Paisa side and, it also works just fine on its own as a dessert.
